Cambodia's QR Code Stop Covid System Wins Digital Innovation Award

PHNOM PENH: Code Stop Covid system, organized by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, has received the Global South Covid-19 Digital Innovation Award from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Office for Cooperation. South (UNOSSC), the United Nations body in charge of telecommunications and digital.

Cambodia will receive a trophy and a cash prize of US $ 20,000 to be used to expand the system, and an invitation to participate in a training program organized by the International Telecommunication Union.

The Global Digital Innovation Program on Covid-19 is a global innovation competition offering innovative member states to develop digital solutions that their communities, institutions and citizens can use to address the impact of the epidemic.

The event was attended by 250 institutions around the world, and Cambodia, represented by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, has adopted the QR Code Stop Covid system for the competition.

This is the first time for the Kingdom to win a world-class award in the field of telecommunications and digital. This is a testament for Cambodia, a developing country, but has sufficient capacity to develop digital applications that the world recognised.
